Whole Interior is out, what should I go ahead and replace!?

Hey all,

I had a clutch boot leak and really messed up my under padding to my carpet drivers side. So I have taken all the interior out and pulled out the carpet to replace it. I was looking at things that I should do while it is in this state!

1 - Replace the speakers
2 - Replace heater core? Maybe? or at least flush out?
3 - Replace dash, A/C, heater core padding
4 - Replace radio antenna wire last owner cut
5 - Other suggestions....

Icon garage has some really detailed videos on refoaming the ducts and everything. Unless you can find a brand new heater core then it will fail at some point. They all do. Theres nothing you can really do with it. Unless your dash is messed up then there's nothing really to do with it. You can clean and paint the dash bar if you want though.

The antenna thing, you don't have to use the stock antenna. There are quite a few options for "hidden" antennas available. I have one in my car and it works great. I have it attached the windshield behind the passenger visor. It looks like a GPS box.

With the interior stripped down like that, there isn't anything thats more accessible than with it fully assembled other than the dash stuff obviously.

Replace all the factory friction tape to reduce rattles.

I agree with the stealth antenna. No need for the big antenna mast.

I have a stealth antenna already. When they cut the antenna wire they put in a stealth one behind the glove box. Just would love to have the factory wire there just in case.

I’m in the process of doing the same thing. While everything is out I did a good cleaning and putting sound deadening down. Also hitting the AC components. Like mentioned above icon garage does a good video on cleaning up those units

Finally getting around to fixing the carpet. I was about to pull the trigger on some new carpet but decided to just do Jute as people recommended. Cost me a little of nothing. Got everything trimmed and will glue down after test fitting.

cleaned up the AC too.
