Tuning Shops in Seattle Area

Hey,

So I did some extensive searching here on the forum and found a couple of threads that had a list of shops that do tuning for our rotaries. Only issue is those threads are from 2009... and even then there weren't any "good" tuning shops around this area. (at least per the threads comments)

So since I need to have it tuned, I'm taking another crack at seeing if anyone around these parts knows a good tuner, any help would be appreciated, thanks.

You have Rob at Pineapple racing only 3hrs away in Portland :icon_tup:

I wasn't aware they did tuning... at least not from the stuff I found searching around. did you get your car tuned over there?

I'm dropping one of those brand new Mazda motors in the car here in about 2 weeks, don't think I want to take it in that kind of road trip for its break in miles.

with that said, from everything I read, the Power FC should have a pretty safe base map to get me through those break in miles. I'll give pineapple a call, thanks!

You may be right on the tuning......I have not had a tune by him.

I met him a while back he is a great guy and I hear good things about his engine builds. If he does not tune I would expect that he must know someone good in his area that does.

I didn't have the time to reach out yesterday, but I will for sure call today, thanks.

I had the same difficulty searching for tuners in Seattle back in 2009...

You might be able to coordinate remote tuning depending on your EMS. Might try reaching out to a tuner to discuss options. Dan Kuo at Garage Life has been tuning my 7 from when I started with PowerFC through my conversion to adaptronic. He's been known to fly out to tune cars if you can arrange for dyno or a road to tune on.

If you are willing to go over the border into Canada; ForceFed racing in Abbotsford BC by Vancouver are highly recommended.

My only request is that you don't impact the work i have booked there at the end of the month! :egrin:

i wouldn't mind going north to try it out, I did call Pineapple racing and they don't do tuning, though he said he would try to get me in touch with someone that does.

Might just have to head north... or fly someone out.

turns out I got in touch with Marko over there, nice guy. once I get my FD up and running I'll head north and get a good tune done by those guys, everything I've found on them so far seems to point to a good tuner. thanks for the heads up.

You are welcome! I did a lot of research and although I have not had any work done by them yet, I am confident they will do an awesome job based of my findings.

I will let you know how my tuning session goes in a couple of weeks.

How did the tuning go? Getting my FD back this week from getting the engine bay painted, dropping the motor and probably making the trip soon.

Just as an FYI for everyone - I have spoken to TTrotary7 via PM, I will be writing a review/log of my experience at Force Fed in the near future.

Until then, long story short - ForceFed Racing = AWESOME :icon_tup::icon_tup::icon_tup::icon_tup::icon_tup: :icon_tup:
