Tire Tread Span and Jacking Point Measurements for the Bendpak QuickJack
 

If you haven't seen the QuickJack, it's a portable low-height lift system that looks and sounds to be the best thing since sliced bread. That said, a few measurements are required to size the system and my car is a few states away. Anyone have the measurements found in the graphic below, specifically measurement C?

Step 1— Measure the distance between tire treads
Measure the distance between your front and back tire treads, keeping your measuring tape 3” above the floor (Measurement C). QuickJack has a 3” collapsed profile (3-1/2” on the BL-7000SLX model), so you’re making sure you measure with the collapsed frame height in mind. This will make sure your QuickJack frames fit comfortably between your tires and don’t rub against them as they rise.

Step 2—Subtract 2” from the distance measured between tires
This might sound a little confusing, so read it a couple times, if necessary. Once you take Measurement C, subtract 2” from that number, which will give you Measurement D. Measurement D is the MOST IMPORTANT measurement to see if QuickJack will fit length-wise under your vehicle. Taking Measurement D is an important safety precaution that will make sure QuickJack does not harm your vehicle during rise.

EXAMPLE
If you measure 66" between your tires (Measurement C), subtracting 2" will give you 64" (Measurement D). The BL-3500SLX requires 62" between tires. In this case, your QuickJack frames would have 2" of clearance between treads, which would make the BL-3500SLX model acceptable for this vehicle. Note: even if QuickJack will fit under your vehicle chassis, it is still important to ensure your vehicle does not exceed QuickJack’s listed lift capacity. Both frame length clearance and weight factors need to be accounted for when deciding which QuickJack model you should buy.

I measured the A, B, And C dimensions on my FD. I put 3" high wood blocks up against the front of the rear tire and the rear of the front tire (my tires are 225/50R16), and the measured to the edges of the blocks touching the tires. For reference, the wheelbase is 95.5".

The A & B dimensions are within an inch or so. C is pretty accurate.
A = 52"
B = 38"
C = 77.75"

That means "D" is ~75.75".
