Struts for Carbon fiber hood?
Seems it may flex too much, but has anyone successfully used them?

I bought my dampers/struts for my stock hood from these guys: Secondbolt Hood Struts
Probably the best hood strut kit you can buy..well at least the mounting brackets they offer are top notch. Very sturdy with a large surface area. The reason I'm telling you this is they also offer "lighter" struts for guys like you that have a carbon fiber hood. Will it flex to much? I have no idea... |
Just get regular ones. I bought "lighter" ones and they don't hold my scoot (VIS) hood up. Most aftermarket hoods are not much lighter than the stock aluminum hood.

A guy I met at a car meet one night was using trunk struts from a Honda Civic to hold up his CF FEED hood. It seemed to work perfectly. I'm sure he had to make his own brackets though.
I dunno, might be worth experimenting with for 15 bucks. https://www.ebay.com/itm/2-Pcs-Rear-...2:pf:0&vxp=mtr |
Thanks , is there a specific hood strut kit for the fd with brackets?

Maybe the answer is a titanium hood prop instead of struts?
