I just had an inspiration for our Singer inspired Rx7s ... We should run the Amati Logo that never was put into production...it is clean and pretty cool in it's own right.
I was afraid I was bugging Gordon too much on his logo, and also do not want to run the old emblem or current Mazda Emblem when I repaint her.
After all the Rx7 is the premium car that Mazda made in the 90s, and 93 was when Amati was supposed to debut.
We would have to run it upside down so it resembles a 7!

Chrome e-brake button
Just installed the $13 chrome e-brake button on my FD.
(part number for that e-brake button is NC35-44-033)
Thanks for the suggestion & help Dale.
Note- removing the old button, much like everything else on this car, is a pita :-)
End result looks great though!

if you ever thought about getting your seats recovered do it. $950 to recover stock seats seemed like a lot of money for me but im so glad i did this. Looks aftermarket but still classy.

I'm relocating my throttle cable. I don't like the long throttle cable strung around the engine bay so I mocked it up here using the unused connection where the cruise control connects (R1 don't have cruise).
I found a place that will build custom cables so I'll have mine shortened.
My goal is to have the cleanest engine bay with all the accessories still in place, twins, AC, PS, ABS even the airpump, etc.

I don't normally post here, but I read a loooot! I like the moto "if you have nothing say, better not say nothing" xD.
I been watching ALL the videos of Singer you can find in youtube, I'm almost dreaming about the car, I liked the 911 when I was a kid, but not that much, now I saw the Porsche Singer and I can't take it out of my mind.
I love the car but I love most the concept. I do have a 93 FD for 7 years now, spent quite some money rebuilding the engine single turbo, suspension, brakes.
I'm not so happy with the result, because I found that what I like is to have a car I can use everyday and looks perfect. I'm far from that. So I was imagining how a "Singer Concept" FD would look like. My first thought was to look if someone else had the same feeling and take a look here!!
I agree with SiH, it is not just adding parts, its the whole balance! Singer got it just right. Now, could this happend to an FD? would there be a market for a very expensive/perfect FD? market value for rotary never been that good :S

Interesting! I bet that's the '96+ manifold. That would shed some weight and give more room under the intake manifold for sure.

There's 4 different types of filler neck. Mazda moved the low water level sensor lower down in later models and moved a sensor to the front from the back.
The one on the left is the first version, but you can see the one on the right has the level sensor located lower down.
This one looks to be a hybrid of the 2 but has 2 holes at the front. I assume mazda moved one of the sensors from the rear to the front. Not sure why though
and finally we have the all one piece version which is no good if you want to do an AST removal with an FC filler cap. As you can see, it has the 2 holes in the front for sensors.

there seem to be about 4 different upper intakes. there is the US/EU one, with AWS. there is the early JDM one, with the AWS casting boss unmachined. then there is the 96-97 intake with no AWS casting boss. the 99+ intakes have the purge valve mounted on them, so there is no AWS casting, but they have the purge valve and a vacuum pipe mounted sort of where the AWS would have been, theres a tapped hole

On the thermostat housing, the automatic cars I believe had another sensor on the housing as well. That may be the additional sensor bung you're seeing.
I had the AST nipple welded shut on mine and I ground it flush. Also removed the Allen head bungs (they're left over from the casting process) and had that welded shut as well.

I found a place that would shorten the throttle cable for ~$100 which for what they did (cut it and spliced it with fuel hose, put a new end on it) was a bit expensive IMHO. The bracket is cheap but I need to do a revision to get the fit just perfect, it works fine now but the throttle cable is adjusted all the way to the end. If you'd like a bracket I will have a couple extra made of the next revision.
