Rear coilover install (rear stud)
What do you guys do about the rear stud that is in the way? Some coilovers have holes predrilled and others do not. Do you drill it out yourself? Do you grind out the stub that sticks out? Do all fd have this?

It's been a while since I installed the coilovers on my 93, but I don't remember having a problem. Can you post a photo of the area you are talking about?
|
You do not need to drill anything for coilover install.

This thread talks about it. I know ohlins, bcracing, and aragostas have predrilled holes/slots. |
But this is the only thread that talks about it. I havent seen anyone talk about the rear stud on coilover installs.

Probably coilover specific, and majority of them probably don't require drilling.
Here's a picture of my TEIN Street Flex from few years ago, if I didn't dig up these pictures I would've forgot they have these big holes on the top plate. I just thought they did that for weight, but maybe it is for clearance. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...9346841c_k.jpg |
If your coiliver top plates don’t have the hole, then drill one. Do not modify the car in any way.
