Price increase on spoilers and clusters?

Idk if it’s just me or not, but it seems like 99 spec rear spoilers and clusters have gone up a couple hundred in the past few months, seems like they all used to be 600-800 now I’m seeing 800-1200. So is it just me or nah?

Supply and demand along with the increasing value of the cars. Parts prices are appreciating for NLA and hard to find/get parts.

I've noticed a huge jump in prices in the last year for parts. I paid about $500cad for a 99 wing two years ago, which I bought on here, and now I see them for $1700cad on ebay.

On a similar note. Three years ago I was trying to sell a mint set of R1 seats for $400 or $500. No one wanted them. I gave them to a local FD owner. Now I see beat up R1 seats selling for twice the price that I was asking back then.

Very true that NLA parts are going up, and I imagine that trend will continue. I got my 99 wing two years ago and am very happy I didn't wait longer. However, a general upswing in prices tends to inspire 3rd parties to make replicas/replacements. I don't know anyone making a good 99+ spoiler, but BubbleTech, Garage Alpha, SakeBomb, and Drakes have been pumping out some amazing products to replace some NLA parts. Excited to see what other parts will be made.

I don't know why Shine hasn't started making a 99 spec wing. I actually like the Feed Afflux wing better, but if you want to stay original looking.....

I recently bought the RocketZ one on ebay. It seemed pretty solid to me for about $250

Have you installed it yet? It looks cool

I have the RocketZ 99 spec spoiler. For the price it's not bad, but definately not perfect. It did take a bit of wet sanding to get it nice and smooth and ready for paint. The install wasnt bad, but the holes are not exactly like the real one. To get to one of the holes I had to put a Phillips bit in a ratcheting 1/4" wrench inside the hatch.

For the mounting, i bought a few sheets of peel and stick foam and covered the entire bottom and used plumber's caulk at the holes.

It does look good, and you wouldn't know it's a replica unless you had a real one next to it. The only other downside is you can't use any of the cool aftermarket goodies like the Odula insert or end cap covers.

If you can afford it, I'd recommend buying the real thing.

I read complaints about it being thin and flimsy but it seemed pretty sturdy to me when I handled it. Probably got more rigid with a coating of primer and paint. I also heard complaints about no hardware or template. Mine actually came with plenty of stainless hardware and some interesting inserts to use as hole marker. They were plastic flats with a post that located the holes when the ends are taped down. It also came with foam washers to use as gaskets but I will be using something else as the white color sticks out. I bought some adhesive backed EPDM foam tape from the hardware store for $4 that will look better.

My biggest complaint is that the pitch adjustment holes suck. They were undersized and not properly located making it difficult to even out both sides as one side would bind when tightened. There were also only 3 holes instead of 4 like there should be. I enlarged the holes with a drill bit and the alignment got easier by allowing a larger tolerance in offset. However I still could not use the bottom hole. For some reason the wing interfered with the ends and could not rotate all the way down to line up the threads. Not a big deal for me as I'm sure I'll never adjust it from the middle position once mounted.

I have yet to see it painted nor do I know the amount of effort that it took but I will report back in a few days when I pick it up.
