Please help to identify this PLUG under the hood!

Hello all,

I came across a blue/yellow plug right behind the water pump hosing. Can't remember what it's for... :dunno:
Could anyone confirm please?

I could be wrong but I really feel like that is not a factory plug.

The car is 1993 LHD, manual tranny.
The harness is original. So is the plug...

Looks like it could be the EGR switch plug with the outer part of the connector's shell broken off. The non-Cali cars didn't have EGR switches so it's a not used plug.

Yes, you are right - part of this plug's plastic shell is broken off.
If it's indeed for EGR switch, I don't see it this diagram...

^Wow, that diagram has TONS of stuff wrong on it. Don't reference that!

If you search around, there are TONS of posts on the "what is this blue plug" - all 93's had that plug and only the California emissions cars had it hooked up. It's a very common question, up there with the mystery empty pipe in the rat's nest.

I'm 99% sure that's the EGR switch plug. Just leave it be, you're fine.

LOL, that diagram is one of those pictures where the more you look, the more you find wrong with it

Yes, the car runs fine without it. I was just curious.
Thanks all!
