Probably not what you are looking for. I have never seen a stock body FD with black roof. Where do you put the parting line?

Could probably find a Red FD with the CF RE-Amemiya roof if I searched hard enough. Those usually fade in the paint onto the CF since there is no natural parting line.

You thinking whole top black like the Veilside FD, but stock body?

Maybe if the entire hatch was painted and you figured out a way to match the curve of the door / door handle into the hatch is MIGHT work. but man, that's tough.

That FD with the gold wheels looks good... but I still think you're gonna have to paint the entire hatch. The body line in between the hatch and body is naturally black, so it's better to use that natural split to your advantage.

It will look slightly wonky up close under scrutiny, but from 5-10 feet away it comes off clean. (the first picture below isn't the best example since the door isn't shut all the way)

Yes, yes- this is exactly what I mean.
You made the best of it by creating a line starting back at the window trim and continuing on into the hatch trim. There is no natural cut line between the two to follow as it is an area of complex compound curves right there on the FD (part of its beauty).

It does look right from a casual distance and as your close up pics show, when you get close... the magic dies.

You can see the reflection in the natural curve right below the mask line in this pic. OFC it would look even more bulging and odd to swoop your mask line down there...

I agree that it's up to the owners creativity to find the "right" dividing line if you want to run two-tone like that since the vehicle doesn't have any hard lines to piggy-back on.

It would look MUCH better with the engine back in and running though :lol: For now she's just sitting pretty (dusty) in the garage.

Thanks. The rebuild is already done, the engine is on a stand right in front of the FD, taking up space next to the motorcycle. The wait is simply to have enough money on hand to get the new ECU harness made, new turbo, DP made, battery relocation, ABS deletion, Body harness strip/tucked, surge tank integrated, etc., etc., etc. :lol:

I'm not planning on it being done until next winter, spring at the latest. The car does NOT have financial priority over supporting the wife through college, and making ends meet.
