Pedal Box for FD
 

Replacing my pedals due to circumstance.

Does anyone here have experience with pedal box in their FD? Any pointers here would be much appreciated.

I have experience with AP racing pedal box. It's a Floor mounted unit with very little spacing between the pedals. I did get used to it after a little while... Made heel towing very easy. I also have used a Wilwood overhang pedal box, this unit had more space between the pedals. Both were just fine, nothing to write home about.

So I guess my pointer would be, if you have big feet go overhang pedal box. If not or you think the floor mounted will be better for you go that route.

I will be going the pedal box route as well (one day). I was looking into the AP and Willwood boxes. I will be going with the floor mount. There was someone with a build thread that was going this route, but I don't remember who it was. Also of consideration is tying the existing plumbing into the MCs and clutch cylinder or going with all new custom plumbing. Whatever you go with, please share. You will probably get it done before me, and I like to learn from other people's mistakes. Good luck!

Spoke to a representative from Tilton Racing. Will be going with their product because their customer service is great.

The guy recommended that I go with the Tilton 600 series pedals. I am sorting out my BBK first before I move forward with choosing the bore for the MC.

The Guys at Tilton are cool, they give you a spec sheet to map out which bore you should go with and are super helpful.

I'm curious as to why you're going this route. Full on track car, no ABS or booster?

I'm doing it because mine will be a (basically) dedicated track machine, with the occasional car show trip. I want the ability to "feel" the brakes better. A properly-sized set of master cylinders, quality pads and rotors will not require excessive pedal force. I liked the Tilton boxes too, and that is really good news that they can help spec. the MC bore and all. Thanks for that info!!

I have a Wilton pedal box in my car. You have to modify the firewall a bit and make a top plate to mount it to.

Any chance you could snap some pictures?
