out of storage!

Got her out of winter storage on this balmy 75 degree day in southeast Pa. Took her for a short spirited drive. Yup, she's still awesome after all these years . Here's hoping we've seen the last of winter in the Northeast!

She’s looking clean!
I would love it if winter would end right now. Give me the opportunity to get mine out. Alas, it’ll be awhile longer. At most I’ll be able to switch rubber on the 8. Once that happens the FD follows yearly preseason maintenance in a week or 2. :)

Simply sublime beauty... congrats! Drive in joyous bliss.

Looking clean! Enjoy the roads.

Thanks all. She's got a nice patina at 136K miles, but most are quite surprised when I tell them the mileage. Just checked the forecast and we're expecting a couple inches of snow on Wednesday, so probably means a re-salting of the roads around here.. Will need a good rain and some dry conditions before we're back on the road, but at least she's back in my garage to be admired while I wait.

I was passing through PA yesterday during a drive back to Chicago from NYC, East Coast got some warm weather going indeed, I got home to a layer of snow waiting for me on my drive way lol.

Maybe few more weeks I can lift the cover off the BB and start with the Spring maintenance.

Love it, perfect FD right there.

How do you like the Cayman S?

Very nice! I had my FD out for a good romp that day too, given your location, I'm sure I'll run into you at a local cars & coffee at some point.

Thanks Jatt. The Cayman is a great compliment to the FD. Obviously a much more modern car, really solidly built without being too heavy, flat 6 sounds great and with the mid-engine it handles wonderfully. With my FD at such high mileage the Cayman has taken most of the miles over the past 8 years (currently at 46K). I ordered my car back in '13 without many options and went with the manual trans vs. the PDK that Porsche was pushing so heavily. I had zero interest in an automatic sports car even though PDK is probably the best dual-clutch out there. Now in the used market the manual is the one to have and commands a pretty good premium over the PDK, just like Ferrari and other exotics that can only be had with an automatic now. The Cayman is a keeper, just like the FD :)

Thanks, Pete! Hope you're right about the C&C.

All I was looking at was manual '14 Cayman S's last night at work lol. It definitely seems like the perfect compliment to the FD, and would try to go with the Manual option if I can find one in a reasonable price range, and low mileage example.

Yeah, it's tough right now to find that combination as prices are up on the 981's like most everything else these days. A nice Cayman S with under, say, 30K miles in manual is probably going to be in the mid to upper 50's. And there are very few available in manual unless you spring for a GT4, which will be north of $100K. But if you've been looking you already know this :) Good luck with your search and check out the 981 forum on Rennlist if you haven't already, wealth of knowledge.
