Motor mounts
 

In the middle of a rebuild/single turbo conversion and need motor mounts, was considering the exessive mounts, was looking for feedback from members who have or had them in their cars and what they thought. This is for street use, so not looking for solid mounts.

never heard of them...

the most popular options are banzai and irp. i suggest giving himni a try. the price for all 3 are pretty close and it really comes down to preference. do you have 2 steel arms?

The excessive ones looked pretty interesting, but I don't know of anybody ever actually running them...

Another badass option that isolate the mounts like the xcessive ones are the FFE mounts. I've got them on mine (still on the stand) and can only say good things about the product quality and customer service coming from FFE.

I took a look at my mounts today and oh man my turbo side mount was in pretty bad shape, that certainly explains the bucking haha. It looks like I have one steel and one aluminum arm.

Yea the FFE mounts look super nice, but not only are the expensive they are out of stock currently. I don't want to cheap out but I'm not sure I can afford to reach to the top shelf right away, this rebuild and EFR8374 single conversion is getting quite expensive.

I have them but don't have enough miles on them to evaluate. If you have a steel driver side arm you need to get a shorter mount

I'm running the Excessive mounts. I think they're a good mix of firmer without a TON of noise. They're definitely still going to be more noise than stock, there's just no way to avoid that with any aftermarket mount.

I will caution with this. I have the Excessive mounts and an aftermarket oil pan (baconsports) and that combo has lifted my motor just enough that I cannot run a front strut bar any more (hits efini y-pipe). Not sure if it was the motor mounts or pan that caused the issue as I changed them both at the same time.

If TomU hasn't had any engine height issues then it's probably due to the oil pan.

Im using the banzaii mounts, and while they are cheap and work well, There is definitely a buzz and rattle when you slip the clutch from a stop. Not too much louder at cruise.
