Mazdaspeed GTC bumper Race Version by Shineauto

Here is the deal. I bought a JKL race version of the Mazdaspeed GTC bumper. The one were they shaved the vents on side and front, opened up the oil cooler ducting holes in the front, made the bottom flat and promised quality fit and flexibility. The problem is the bumper fits Horrible and is super wavy. It cracks way to easy and isn't flexible at all. I actually had another GTC replica FDNewbie had gotten me that I sold that I should of kept. That bumper was actually made very well and was very flexible but didn't have the shaved vents, flat bottom and larger ducting. I talk to Ken from Shineauto and he said if we can get 15 people he will make the JKL version of the GTC bumper the way JKL promised but didn't deliver. I'm pretty sure the price will be around $550 to $600 a pop and he is gonna even replicate the combo light lens for another $200 a set. The GTC bumper IMO when paired with smoked lenses is the best looking bumper for the FD and this bumper will be the most functional bumper available and it will actually fit good and be flexible like all the other products Shine has made for the RX-7 community. Is it fiberglass or poly?

silverTRD 06-13-15 10:23 AM

It's FRP. I have a shine bumper and it is extremely flexible.

I was also scammed on the original JKL GTC group buy. Fit was shit and could never get a response from the jackass.

Here guys, just for reference, these holes are to be shaved off and smoothed by Shineauto.

Question from me: Are the lenses exclusive for this bumper? Or can they be used for the FEED type2 and/or Burnout bumper? If so, I'll need a set. Can I just sign up for the lenses?

tys93r1fd 06-24-15 11:15 PM

Lets get this going I want a new front bumper!

MazdaspeedR1 06-25-15 12:08 PM

The lenses are for this bumper only I'm pretty sure.

Any idea of the time frame?

We need 15 people. The faster we get that the faster we get our bumpers. If we had 15
people now it would be pretty quick I think.

why shave the side vents?
It's a great exit point for the oil cooler airflow if properly ducted

MazdaspeedR1 07-01-15 03:34 PM

From the person who designed it. Damian

If you look at where the vent is relative to where the air exits the oil cooler, it's not really in a good position to vent, if you make that area smooth then you can put canards there to generate front downforce

Is this for a street car or a track car???
I don't see the need for canards and downforce, but hey, that's me, I like the cooling effect better for the street.

MazdaspeedR1 07-02-15 08:35 PM

It could be for both. You don't need canards. But the bumper helps keep things cool. Either way who makes a good Hybrid FRP. This one will fit good, be flexible, lighter and more functional. Damian has proved this on the track.

Grinch 07-08-15 11:13 AM

I'd be down, one I bought has horrible fitment as well.

fendamonky 07-08-15 12:49 PM

This is tempting... I've always been a fan of the GTC bumper.

MazdaspeedR1 07-08-15 04:34 PM

Gotta add yourselfs to the list. If we get 15 we'll be good. Also besides the better fitment well get a flexible bumper that is lighter.

Grinch 07-09-15 07:28 PM

Idk how you do that
