Long and low, to life the nose
So it's time for me to get a proper floor jack once again. I used a crappy Harbor Fright [sic] when I was competing with my FB that worked well on that lowered car. Looking around now I see a few that look like they're long enough but not low enough to get under a FD. I used to lift the FB from the diff and the front cross member which made short work of anything that needed doing under the car. Are there jacks I should avoid for fitment issues?

You'll have a pretty tough time getting to the crossmember without first jacking up a while and placing something under it. I jack from each side, right behind the mirror, and set the car on stands that way.

Tim,
I use a product similar to this type of low-profile ramp. It provides enough clearance to get a standard floor jack underneath my FD. Cheers, George |
Oooh, low profile ramps. Yep. On order now.
