JP3 Motorsports FD Battery Fuse Block Bracket

Mazda RX7 FD3S Battery Fuse Block Bracket (relocated batteries)

Many FD3S RX7 owners have relocated their batteries from the engine bay to various locations in their cars, including the rear bins or even the trunk. In OEM form, the battery fuse block is attached to the positive terminal. Once the battery is relocated, the battery fuse block is left without a proper support.

The JP3 Motorsports FD3S Battery Fuse Block Brackets solves this very problem.

Simply put, it provides a sturdy mount, and allows the battery to be jumped or connected to a trickle charger from the engine bay. The bracket places the battery fuse block in the OEM location and utilizes a sleek rubber cap on the positive power post to keep a clean appearance. It’s a complete kit and includes all parts needed to install.

Installation is straightforward and requires minor trimming of a plastic flap on the fuse block body (see below).

  • Low-profile red positive terminal post with rubber cover

Is this a “product dev” thread or a “group buy” one? If we get 20 buyers will we get a reduced price? I’m willing to bet these would fly off the shelf if it’s a group buy. You can count me in especially if if gets marked down a tad.

Pretty nifty. I've definitely had a ziptied fuse block haha

What a great idea and clean execution! I would have been all over one of these back when I had a bin mount battery. It totally bugged me that the fuse block was just floating around with no support.

This is WAY better than zip ties!

How secure is that red cap? Is it just held on by those four skinny legs on the cap?

The cap has a round cavity in the middle which is a press fit onto the nuts used on the power post. It is pretty secure one it is on.

hadokenny posted a nice shot of the kit installed in his CW FD.

Any possibility of doing a refresh kit for the positive terminal connector for stock location batteries?
Something like a replacement positive terminal, the terminal contact and spacer from your relocation kit, and a replacement boot?

https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rx7...7e7ca9626b.jpg

My positive terminal is not in the best of shape, and a heavier copper connector would conduct better.
I mean, I could source a terminal myself, and make the contact and spacer by hand from a sheet of copper, but getting a pre-made kit would be nicer and easier.

I might end up doing that, but honestly the stock stamped sheet metal 90 degree piece has always looked kind of cheesy to me. I've thought about making my own replacement out of thicker copper over the years, but JP3 already has it made :)

@YellowT2 you can get a new positive terminal from Nissan that is IDENTICAL to the OEM terminal. Costs about $8. Thread -

We've got something related coming out in the next week or so that you may be interested in.

This bracket is the bees knees.

Just wanted to say that this was an awesome product that JP3 Motorsports came out with! For anyone with a battery relocated, this is a MUST for the fuse box, it keeps it neat and secure. The bonus is being able to jump or charge the battery from the engine bay! FYI, I still have AC with my Greddy V-Mount kit and this fits perfectly! Overall, I'm a satisfied customer, here's a pic of my bracket! Excuse the dirty engine bay...

I would love to buy this but I doubt it will fit with the IC i have - has anyone tried it with the ASP Race IC? That may have been sold by Pettit at one point?

Photo of mine for reference. I am fine with moving the oil catch can as I haven't finished the plumbing for it and the bracket only took like 10 minutes to bend on the brake.
