Maybe I should get into the auction-price-guessing game! Last one I got dead on and this one I was off by $1!

To be fair, based on the previous sale photos I really thought I needed to lower my guess. Hopefully the high bidder at least read through all the comments.

It's got potential and the rust isn't that impressive. It easily could have been more without a shady/stupid seller and an unbearable comments section.

I think it's indicative of the pace of the market. Bulls and bears. False profits and false prophets. When you get about half on one side and the other, you're right in the middle.

What we know: BAT is by far the best place to sell your low mileage FD and conversely the absolute worst place to buy one

Again someone just paid 42k for a barn find FD, with RUST, AVG compression and 29k miles (that's really not that low).

I think we can also all agree that CW/color makes a HUGE difference. This same car with 9k miles, no rust, excellent compression etc... is easily a 55k car.

WOW!!!

Do you guys think a comparable car but in SSM would have done as well? Thanks in advance.

Probably not. But, close. An SSM R2 should draw more water. And, the CW was not offered in R1/R2.

Same mileage 93 SSM/Red then yes.
Same mileage 93 SSM/Black would come up a little short.
94 SSMs should perform similar with a R2 doing better
95 SSM R2 would likely set the new market high with same mileage and condition.

To clarify further, ever since I started selling FDs in 2001, I would always get the most requests from people looking to buy CYMs or SSMs. White didn't become in high demand until 5-6 years ago. You can see this same trend in new car sales as well. Black has always been a good seller with Red and Montego pulling up the rear. I love all FD colors except the banana one and even it is still beautiful with the correct wheel setup.

theres eye candy on the form of a yellow 997 turbo awd at the local dealership...
how about a valuation on this one...

this is a driver car... not a collector museum piece but very clean nonetheless...94 ssmr2 88k miles might be 90 by seasons end...
has had some repaint to fix faded areas done very well.. compression mid 90s front and 100plus in the rear...odometer intermittent...
full exhaust.. fuel.. coilovers.. ac not working due to pfc... and what you see on the engine bay to support 348rwhp at 17psi..
stock wheels and parts available minus exhaust... more current pics on my instagram account...

I'm digging the engine bay. I think you are better off converting back to stock and selling the aftermarket separately.

Another tough one. Cleanish R2 is ringer.

Estimate: 27,500 - 36,500

27k minimum if you get the AC working. If you are serious about selling and want the most for your car, fix the AC and any other issue. List here there and everywhere with tons of info and pic/similar to BAT sale. If you don't get your price then put it on BAT and it will sell for at least 22k and possibly 30 plus LOL

OT but how are you getting outside air to the intake? Did you mod the inner bumper or bumper support to direct air in?

I'm wondering as I have an aftermarket plateless 99-spec bumper skin on my car + a 99-spec air guide that I would like to use. But the area below the hood release mechanism where the air would flow seems totally blocked.

Nice engine bay, though!

It's almost certainly not as efficient as the 99 spec duct. But, at speed the nose is a high pressure area and cold air is coming in. The hood and bumper etc aren't perfect seals and other aftermarket intakes (and even current OEM intakes) take advantage of this.

The real problem is the autoexe intake doesn't fit well with the s6 fittings in the same area like the airbag sensor etc. Something will be moved or trimmed or otherwise changed to fit.

I've read through this entire thread and it's great to see how much prices have appreciated just within the past year. In this current market, how would you guys value a stock, all original 1994 R2 with about 75k miles assuming compression is within range?

How about this 1993 R1 that's been repainted?
