Not to mention the R2 came in 3 colors blah blah blah. I just don't get the current mentality of there's an rx7 listed for 40k so I guess mine is worth 40k.

Weak dollar, huge tax cuts, biggest bull run since the dot com boom and I don't think this bull is even winded yet etc..... hopefully I'll be somewhat prepared for the tsunami coming LOL

Probably won't even make it to 36k. CW FDs are easily the cream of the crop at this time so this is a very telling auction. I believe the tide has lifted the boats the last 3 to 5 (depending upon what boat) years and there's isn't much room to go higher at this time. However if the dollar doesn't sink too far, tax cuts, peace on earth etc... hell, we might see a 40k dow before the wheels come off LOL

The CW PEG is relisted along with a nice low mileage VR/tan touring on ebay. The dealer is asking 60k for both cars on autotrader. The bidding made it to 35,200k on the CW FD last time at auction. I think he could actually sell it for 40k if he found the right buyer. 60k at this time isn't even in the ball park.

As a result of these dealers trolling for dollars you'll see more and more cars coming out of the wood work with stupid prices and no buyers.

For all those guys and gals out there that think I'm hating on the FD that's not my intention. I'm simply trying to keep it real and would only gain myself if the values did reach 50k plus. So far I have not witnessed your typical low mileage (10 to 20k miles in really good shape) FD sell for 40k or more.

White is a fun color, but it does nothing for the FD (unless you like staring at panel seams and gaps). Yellow and silver are in the same boat, by that measure.

ive owned black.. white.. silver.. yellow..
out of the four.. yellow did not fail to get more attention and interest than the others.. with white being the least..
brought the cym once at a local CnC this year... it drew more gawkers than the ssm combined for the entire summer..
it was also a much easier sell than any of the other colors... not sure if that says much

I love all the colors.
At this time for me it's all about mileage, condition and year. I'll take a 95 over most any 93 all things equal. That said I'm not a collector, I'm just interested in driving them.
If I bought one to put on a shelf it would be a cym.

Hi guys. I'm the proud new owner of this car and it's en route to me as we speak. As I posted in the New Member Section, the FD RX-7 was my childhood dream car. At 12-13 years old, I'd ride my bike all around town to the few local FDs I knew of just for the chance that the owner would be outside and I could talk to them. I spent every waking moment reading this forum to learn as much as possible about this car I loved. I was completely obsessed. My ideal spec was a Silver Stone 94 or 95 R2, but knowing there fewer than 100 examples the US, I would be content with other trims or color combos (well...except for one
). This dream came to a slow and painful ending once I was 16 and began to shop for one. I was faced with the harsh reality of the overall condition of local used FDs being less than desirable and had to accept the fact that this isn't a car suited for a teenager. To say I was crushed would be an understatement.Fast forward to last month with the birth of my nephew. My brother and I joked that he and my future son(s) may not get a chance to experience the awesome 90s sports cars we grew up on. Now in my 30s having achieved success in my career with the resources necessary to properly own an FD, I knew it was time. The search was short and sweet with less than 24hrs between deciding to buy one and signing a purchase agreement. I had found exactly what I was dreaming of over half a lifetime ago: An immaculate, stock* 1994 Silver Stone RX-7 R2 with 31K miles. I cried leaving the bank after wiring the funds for it, and dare I say I'm holding back tears as I type this now (for what it's worth, I saw Doug DeMuro's video after purchasing the car).
*The car is mostly stock. It has a PFS cat-back, downpipe (can't confirm which, but I'll assume it's PFS as well), aluminum AST, and an AutoMeter boost gauge. I'll be replacing the exhaust with one of my choosing and I have a Defi on its way to replace the AutoMeter, but make no mistake...this car will remain factory, for the most part. Parts will either be OEM from later FDs or only the best aftermarket with no expense spared. This car will absolutely be a garage queen and I have no qualms about it.

Do you mind sharing with us what you paid for the car as it's becoming more and more difficult to find nice FDs that actually sell?
Based on Doug's video I suspect it also has a short shifter.
