Here's is a link to the last low mileage or nice FD I sold. Today I'd likely get 32k short sale (3 months time) or 36k long sale (year or more) . I sold it in 2015 for 29k.

this..
a friend recently thought about purchasing the mint ssm r2 listed on this forum..
but after seeing whats on the market for the price range.. he ended up with a well sorted low mileage twin turbo 370z..
high horsepower without having to sacrifice features and amenities... like not smellin like exhaust fumes wherever u go...

FD has class, style, mystique, looks better, and you don't have to pass another one every 5 seconds.
The new Z cars are for the tasteless.
The problem is most people are asking 30+ for cars that don't warrant it. Well sorted, well optioned, low-ish mileage FDs are worth every penny of 30k and going up.

And he looks like every other new-Z-car super bro in a pig of a car. No thanks.

in your opinion, how much more do 1995's fetch vs 1994's and 1993's ?
looking on Autotrader, Ebay and this forum, seems like 95's get sold pretty quick when they do pop up, maybe because they tend to be in better shape? just curious to how much more people are willing to pay for them

95s have an upgraded ABS outside of that there isn't much difference. So maybe 500
At this time I'd say the most valuable FD is a 95 SSM R2, then 95 BB R2, then 95 VR R2.
That said there may be some folks that would pay more for a CYM, CW base etc....
However if I ever see a SSM R2 with 10k or less miles I'd seriously consider paying 40k if it's a good one.

The more options (supply) the harder it is to sell anything. So yes this will effect the price of the average used FD market. That said I'd pay a lot more for a LHD car if all things are equal.
Do I think RHD cars will effect the price of low mileage stock LHD cars. NO!

I'm not actually looking to sell. I was more implying that the value of the FD should be higher. Especially ones like mine that have the care as I put in it. Which in return brings up the value of the lesser sought after looked over cars. I never said I have a badass Rx7 because there are many others before mine. But I have only owned the car for 2 1/2 and I made the decisions to make the modifications listed.
Why do I need hype or internet fame? All I need is a weekend to drive the car to a place I've never been too.

What if someone did get a 10k paint job that included replacing every single seal of the car with new oem and new 99 spec facelift rebar under tray and turn lights, rebuilt a reliable modified engine with quality parts by a reputable shop, replace all the bushings and suspension pieces for top name brand parts, did install a Vmount, dual oil coolers, and upgraded the twin turbos for bnrs that had a tune and a great exhaust. Along with replacing the interior plastics with new oem and saved every single reciept to prove all the way from the first owner? But the only thing holding back the car was the mileage? What then?
People put alot of time, effort, and money into these cars and they should have a higher value or start increasing in value because getting work like this done isn't cheap. That's what people need to realize. Specialized shops are costly because everyone else are not trained to diagnose, reapir, and replace the parts in an rx7.

I don't even want to know how much money you've spent on that car and now you're rebuilding etc.... JUST WOW!!! Excellent build thread and I love the commitment
Good luck at IRP

Here are two high priced modded FDs that sold fairly quickly. Zack's car sold within weeks. I was seriously thinking about it but I am just not ready for an LS FD. A friend was seriously considering the other car.

In recent memory the only FDs I've seen sell for anything over 30k are either sought after models (R1,R2,Base,white,black,silver) with very low miles or LSX cars.

"There are clearly lots of FDs listed for 30k by owners who don't care if they sell and I am also sometimes in that camp so I understand the reason to keep it versus sell for anything less but if that's true then your car really isn't for sale, you are simply testing the market and your test failed LOL."
Mine is always for sale, just like just about everything else in the stable. $35K could be pretty persuasive, especially if I didn't have to put all the stock stuff back on.

When I want something sold I simply figure out the market and price it to sell
The current batch of sellers aren't selling at market price they are attempting to create a market price. That might work if you own them all or most of them and or there are no other options

Just wanna add that 5k for an engine is lowballing for one of us mortals with no connections. I just got done spending $8k+ for an engine and turbos. Plus install/gaskets/endless bugs/ months of headaches. I'm not bumping my thread anymore because I don't want to seem like a complainer, but I'm well over $10k in and FD is STILL not running right.
Finding a good, honest mechanic is huge for us RX-7 drivers. The rotary has been gone for 10 years now, and every year we lose another Jim Mederer. The less good builders we have, the less we'll get for our money and the less REW powered FDs we'll see.
3 rotors.

RHD or LHD in Norway?
Local LHD drivers are giving up and going racecar with flat sheet replacement pieces.
RHD door cards are quite commonly available ( I have ten).
I've seen LHD door cards for about US$450 on ebay (maybe with complete plastics).

Fritz has deep roots in the FD parts community, so he has a bit of an upper hand in sourcing this stuff. But there are some known members you can query about parts availability.

^Most of my spare interior pieces I'm hanging onto (like my new in box '93 finish map pocket) because they're impossible to find in near or near new shape nowadays......
