Fuel setup questions

Hey everyone,

I'm in the middle of purchasing mods for my 95 rx7. I need help deciding what would be a good fuel setup. middle of the road in price and performance. Car will be shooting for 3-400 right now. long term goals will be 500.

Currently I have purchased a haltech 2500, ID 1700cc injectors for the secondaries. I'm looking to keep stock twins until later in the year.

should i go top feed for the injectors? any good fuel kits that are compatible with the TT rats nest?

Any responses will be appreciated!

Leave the stock injectors if you're intending to go single. Stock fueling on twins will get you low 300s easy. Just replace the pump and do the rewire mod.

with intentions to be in the 500 range you should more concerned with your trans and diff but for fueling you're going to want 2200 secondaries and ~1200 primary or whatever is available in that range. The id1050 would be fine. Top feed is your only option. There is no reliable side feed option for an injector larger than 850.

As stated by @cr-rex ,running stock injectors with an upgraded pump while twin-turbo is probably most effective. I ran a walbro 250 with the rewire mod on non-seq. twins and it was good until around 18psi.

I recommend the FFE step up kit as it will provide you everything need to have a 500hp capable fuel system although it does not retain the fuel temp sensor and does not claim to fit with the rats nest but I’ve heard of people making it work. The FFE step up kit will be able to support 500hp I use the kit and am a big fan of it.

you currently have two 550 and two 1700... 4500 cc gross

400 hp requires 4640
500 5800

i agree w losing rx7, FFE is one of the very besy vendors re fuel related items. i would also do the Excessive LIM when i upgraded fueling for 500. a real 500 rwhp FD is a rocket and items as clutch etc need to be carefully researched.

check my "Tuning: Fuel" section for further info

Or don’t make horsepower a goal but a fun, fast and reliable car the goal. Less bragging rights at cars and coffee, but you might be really surprised what the car can do with 350 whp. And you tend to break a lot less stuff. Just my .02
