Fitting a drain plug to the gas tank

Hi guys, it seems that the series 6s have a drain plug in the gas tank, but the series 8s do not.
I'm thinking about braising a steel threaded fitting on and fitting a cap, so that i can switch between e85 and pump easily.

Will there be any potential rust issues on the inside of the tank from doing this? And if so is there a particular type of antirust treatment that is ethanol resistant to spray inside the tank after the braising?

Cheers!

Can you get rust in an area that is always submersed in fuel? I would've assumed no, but I could be wrong

Usual rust in these is caused by low fuel condensation cycles....can get pretty rusty internally, but the ethanol would scour it out. I seem to recall V5 S8s still had the bung too, before they went even further with the penny pinching. Rx7 import parts seem to be dying a death, but that bloke in Newcastle might be worth a go.

There's been a few tanks welded up conventionally, but brazing will work, just need to get rid of the sound deadener and alumised/galvanised coating....and of course purge fumes before the kerblammo!
