Did any FD model come with stripped interior?

I've removed the plastic panels in the hatch area for access while doing some work in my Autox FD.

I would rather not reinstall those panels, but the only way that can be legal in my class is if there was any production model that did not have those panels installed.

Was there any lightweight version that didn't have all that plastic in the hatch area?

Looked at pics of the RZ, but it all appears complete.

I don't know about other editions, Bathurst, etc.

No.

You will have to re-install the panels or stripped the interior and go to XP!

FWIW, all rear hatch plastic aft of rear speakers... 7.50 lbs. (source: Mantissa Racing)

Ah, SCCA Solo rules.

For parts that must be "standard" (like the interior) it even has to be from or made to the spec of a U.S. model of the car.

Although allowed "comfort and convenience" mods (adding JDM back seats?) could possibly over rule the above.

Also, "minor modifications" are allowed to enable specifically allowed modifications as long as each is within a 1lb of "standard" configuration; though we are cautioned not to over use this.

An example of over using this "minor modifications" rule might be replacing all the vehicle's fasteners (which is an allowed modification, ie they don't have to be OEM fasteners) with Titanium, Nylon and Aluminum that don't weigh more than 1lb less than each stock fastener replaced.

---------

But if you are super lazy and throw all the rear plastics, fasteners, carpet, etc into a trash bag and duct tape that down in the hatch I doubt anyone will protest it in SSM even though you are centralizing mass a bit

But you will look really lazy! That is still better than looking like you don't know/care about the rules though, right?

Thanks Jim. The panels I removed are a total of 13 lbs, as it includes those just behind the door.

This was not about weight anyway, I would rather not put the stuff back in.

Yeah, the rules are a bit much at times.
There is nothing 'street' about any SSM car.

I will just cut and access hole for the bits I want to get to.
