Coolant Alarm
93 FD. Was overheating, changed out the thermostat (Mishimoto). Tried to bleed system. Coolant fill is full. When I run the car, I get a coolant alarm and light on the gauge, but temp remains fine. Went up and diwn the street, but alarm stays on. Any thoughts on what I should look at next?

low coolant sensor plugged in? You just had it unplugged to install the thermostat

The coolant warning sensor has a very fragile wire connection sitting in a very exposed location. Very easy to brush it off when working in that area. Alarm should shut off after 15 seconds, after which the ecu resets to alarm again.
Very hard to fix the brushed off wire (think broken off candle wick). Dealer should have a new sensor for about US$85. Any other damage in that circuit could produce the same alarm result. |
Thank you. I hope this is the isdue.
