Broadfield Customs

Has anyone delt with Toby at Broadfield Customs? I inquired about his work using Speedhut gauges to replace my factory non-working gauges in my 94.. so after a few days of emails back and fourth late June he seems pretty straight up guy so I gave him a deposit to order the gauges during the 4th July sale and once received I would send him the facia shroud so he can do the work.. its been almost a month and I haven't gotten any response from him thru emails or return calls.. has anyone done business with him or knoe of someone that has recently? sorry if this is the wrong place to post but wasn't sure where else to post it inquiring about him or his services.. Not trying to talk bad or anything just haven't heard back from him since the wk of the order placed..

A few people have. I remember seeing a thread about it - either here or in the Interior / Exterior forum.
The radio silence is a bit odd though... It is vacation season so maybe he's out. Let us know how it works out.

Yes the fact that he does install these cutsom speedhut gauges for other cars aswell i do understand if he can be busy. He’s been intouch reguraly prior to me putting down a deposit and since then i have’nt had any repsonses thru emails or return calls.. I also contacted Speedhut inquiring about how long these gauges would take to make since its states on their website it may take 3wks made to order. I was told there were no orders from Broafield Customs during the sale or July month 😮.. I even tried msg reaching out to him on facebook buisness page, shows the msg was read but no reaponse 🤷🏻*♂️..

Hang in there. Toby does fantastic work overall. But he easily gets backlogged due to his popularity in customizing gauge cluster assemblies. It's likely that he's not ready to start your project (especially if he hasn't asked for your fascia just yet). Once he receives your cluster assy, expect another 3-6 months before it is returned as a finished product.

As to the lack of contact and or relevant updates, that's how Toby rolls unfortunately. But if you have the patience to hang in there, you'll eventually be pleased w the end result.

He owes me for $2500 of gauges, sensor, and custom work on my panels that I paid him for on 8/12/18.

On 9/13/19, he emailed me:

"I have actually made the decision to shut Broadfield Customs down. My day job has me working up to 80 hour weeks at times, and as you have unfortunately seen, it’s impossible for me to keep up with Broadfield Customs orders. I’ll get your stuff shipped out next week."

I haven't heard from him in 11 days so I emailed him today and it bounced:

So I checked his site and he's gone...

I checked his Facebook and Instagram pages and there's been no posts since 8/15/18.

Guess I'll try calling him...

Sounds vaguely familiar.

Didn’t know he’s based in IL

^ That is is the address from my order last year. Toby was great to deal with and I would guess will come thru for those that have outstanding orders.

^Sounds like Toby needs a little encouragement

Waiting since 8/12/18, I just received my incomplete parts and a partial refund from Toby after texting multiple times.

There was no communication, explanation, apology, tracking # provided, the package just showed up on my doorstep.

There's something seriously wrong with him, but he's not offering explanation, so it's hard to empathize with him and whatever his dilemmas are.

His phone is (309) 261-4827

His new email since he abandoned his domain is toby.broadfield@gmail.com

Good luck!

Bill

Well that sucks. I always wanted to get a custom cluster from him but I never got around to it. Guess I’ll just settle for oem.

knutarn 11-30-19 11:15 AM
