To airpump or not??

Well I am at a bit of an impasse. My stock cat went so I thought it was high time to get a high flow cat from Pettit Racing. I noticed that if I want to keep my air pump I need to weld the flange on to the high flow cat. Now, naturally this brought me to the question if I really still need the air pump to pass emissions. Let me state here, I STILL NEED TO PASS EMISSIONS so no resonated midpipe for me. I have researched my question on the internet and despite a few old threads on this forum with some inconclusive arguments my question still stands; do newer high flow cats still require the airpump to pass emissions?

Yes, you will want the air pump to be retained otherwise your emissions will definitely not be low enough. I have a 150 CPSI RE-Amemiya high flow cat on mine which I welded a bung to just before the cat for the air pump as shown below. Unfortunately, the cat is too high flowing and not efficient enough for me to pass in the UK legally so I am forced to pass emissions in other ways...However, at least my car doesn't smell like fuel.

Thank you for the response. I talked to the mechanic I bought the car from and he said for the area I will need the air pump to pass emissions.
