Advice on Buying 1st FD

I got my FD when I was 25 back in 2000 and it was my daily for about 5 years. It was a tough car to daily. There were many weekends spent working on the car because I needed to get to work on Monday, let me tell you it sucks swapping turbos knowing you have a deadline and hopefully don't break anything or find out the used turbos you picked up were no good. Replace rats nest with silicone lines? Forced 2 day project as well, that one was even worse knowing solenoids break just looking at them.
Regardless of your age and driving experience, the car is even older and more likely to break than when I did it. I'd wait at a least until you can get a cheap daily and call the fd a project car.
