93 3rd Gen RX7 Restoration

Hi,

My 1993 RX7 Touring 64K miles has been sitting in my garage under a tarp without moving for at least 6 years now and I need to figure out what to do with it.
When I parked it, it had some minor issues like door handles that snapped off and windows which wouldn't go back up and was getting a small amount of white smoke out the tail pipe when running the engine.
The body was almost perfect.
Now, I am selling the house and wonder if it would be worth reconditioning and if so, how much would it cost me to do so?
The car is in Houston so is there someone in Houston or Dallas who reconditions these cars, would check out my RX7 and give me an estimate on restoring it to driveable?

Thanks for the help!

If you plan on selling it getting it fixed up will definitely increase the resale value big time. But, having a car sit isn't the best thing for it, many times you have rusty brakes, bad fuel tanks, mold/mildew in the interior, flat/dry rotted tires, etc.

Rotary Performance in Dallas (Garland) is a reputable shop that's been around a long time, they can definitely take care of things.

It's impossible to say what all it will need. New door handles for sure, that's an easy fix and I would get new door handle assemblies from Mazda. The white smoke is hard to say, it could be nothing or it could be due for a rebuild.

IMO, getting the car brought back to near flawless condition would cost more (possibly a LOT more) than you would gain in sale value. Plus you would have time and hassle involved making sure it was done right. So, unless you really want to see it in prime condition again, IMO, you should just sell it as is.
