Throttle body o-ring size?
Dos anyone know the dash number or size of the o-ring between the throttle body and intercooler piping elbow?
Mine has pretty much gone flat and has been leaking a bit, and since I'm pulling the IC pipe to change plugs I figured I'd grab a new o-ring when I run into town. Jerry Nuss |
Try N390-13-W69 .

There's an O-ring there? Not on mine  . Mine is all flat and there is no place for an oring to go. I guess it just got molded in with all the heat.

I agree with Want to race. Maybe when someone has the time they could measure it so that we can buy a bundle and sale them at a group deal. something like 1.50 ea, plus $.34 for shipping..

o-ring
I'll try and find one to match it and then post the actual o-ring dash number so they can be purchased locally at a hardware store or through McMaster-Carr.
$21.00 is crazy for a simple universal part. Jerry Nuss |
Try using "The Right Stuff" made by Permatex. It's simply amazing what gaskets you can replace with this compound.
It's oil, coolant and ATF resistant. About the only thing you can't use it for is a head gasket or parts in contact with gasoline. I've saved hundreds of dollars using it and it's never failed once as long as the parts are clean before application. It's an elastomeric rubber. It really is that good......... |
o-ring
After I measured the o-ring, I cut it then measured the length as 14.5 inches. I then divided that by 3.14 and got 4.6 as the diameter. I then referenced an o-ring chart and it came out as o-ring #157. McMaster-Carr has them for $6.83 for a package of 25. So that equals about 27 cents a piece. Much better than $21.

Group Buy?
How about $2 apiece including shipping to the person that wants to go and get them. Good little profit for thier time and labor. |
