Get used to it, man they run real hot until you put in a down pipe. The precat for startup emissions sits almost in the engine bay and cats run at 1200 F. So it does get hot under the hood. The best thing is to get a dowpipe it will really save you hoses and everything in you engine compartment. I still have mine, so after I run mine for a whille I leave it running with the hood open. When Mazda put in the fuel recall they put a fan relay to make the fans stay on under the hood for 10 min when too hot. But it is still hot as hell.
