Reliability issues
What's up everyone,
Right now I have a 98 Mustang, and I'm thinking of getting an FD. How reliable (or should i say unreliable) are they? I'd probably get a car with 50 to 60 grand on the odo. Any help is appreiciated. -Danny |
Rotaries are very reliable cars and the FD CAN be a very reliable car if its taken care of properly. Buying a used one, unless you know the person, you'll never know if they took good care of the car or not.
Requires a lot of maintenance (much more than the stang) and you can't take it to a dealer to fix it (they'll break your car more). When things break, parts are expensive and when you mod the car reliability slowly creeps downward. It all comes down to research, maintenance, and a willingness to put up with the cars quirks. I suggest you keep a daily driver on hand if you buy a 7 at least in the beginning until you are sure the car is ok. my .02 |
