my suggestion for check valve replacements
 

From McMastercarr, these are pretty heavy duty, viton seals so they can take temps up to 400° F.

• Maximum Pressure: 1000 psi

Hey, good idea for a post man. I replaced a check valve a couple months ago, but I got a lighter level of utility for it. Viton diaphram and all. It was this skinny little clear plastic one but it had the highest heat and cold tolerances and good pressure capability. I'm looking to replace the hole arrangement of them over winter when I do my hose job. I love the idea of using indestructable overkill parts.

I've heard of people using metal check valves from gas RC aircraft engines. Like the one's here - http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...ve&FVPROFIL=++

hey JR, I purchased some of the Perry Check Valves a while back and didn't like the way they worked out, they are smaller than you think and even though they look cool, they don't fit on the hose very well becasue the barbs are so small.

not to mention that our cars generate much stronger vacuum/pressure forces than RC aircraft and they don't list the max pressure they can take, so its a gamble that they will hold up, especially if you are running higher boost levels

Looks like a great idea for long-term performance and a cost savings to boot. When will you have them installed so that you can give us a report on how well they work?

Also, since these are so much larger/heavier than OEM’s are you planning to 'mount' them in some way to keep them from moving around; cable ties or???

FDJunkie, my car is in storage until winter is over (i am in MN) so in might be a while before I can really test them. However, I will have them installed soon and if there is no snow on the ground will be 'test' driving around, but not pushing hard (too cold and on storage insurace)

Aslo, I do plan on mounting them somehow (zipties, whatever) so that they don't 'clank' around in there.
