Midpipe

I just installed a midpipe on my car and now it sounds like crap. I don't like the droning noise. I want to install a Borla XR-1 muffler on it. Should I remove the midpipe from the car to have the muffler welded on or should I let them weld the muffler to the midpipe while the midpipe is installed on the car? But damn the MP makes good power.

I have the same problem awesome power but it sounds sooooo loud. Getting a high flo cat from N-tech for street use and keeping the mid for races and the track.

Think about getting a resonated mp...they sound really good on the car, still loud but the droning goes away significantly!

the further up you put the muffler the more back firing you will have. Welding exhaust parts, ugh!! just get an Apex catbacl, adn get teh optional silnecer with it, I heard it is wonderful, greatly reduces sound, not much loss of power, etc. COnsidering buying a CB with an muffler on it too, like the RB, or Greddy SP.

mmm, I think greddy sp has muffler, anyway, I know it is one of the quiter ones.

They will be able to weld in the XR-1 while the midpipe is in place. The XR-1 inlet and outlets will sip over the midpipe sections once they cut out a section. It will also alow them to align everything. It took my exhaust ship about 5 minutes to do it once they got the car in the air, and it looks perfect. Plus, it makes the car much quieter around town, and does help alot with the droning.

Try the Pettit Res MP, the XR-1 will not do much.
