M2 dual exhaust
 

Does anybody have pictures of the M2 dual exhaust mounted on their car? Please post if you do. Thanks

Of course I don't have pictures of it cuz I ain't that sophisticated, But, I can tell you this. I won mine at Sevenstock. I was waiting for years to find the perfect exaust for this car. I really liked the construction characteristics of the PFS exhaust, but I wasn't crazy about the single tip. So I never bought it, and I liked the Racing Beat dual tip, but where's the all polished one? N/A They say its coming out soon, but it will cost $650, and the tips wiil look like Greddy tips. Enter the M2 Dual tip, mind you...it's 409 Stainless steel, not 304 SS. But is it beautiful! I LOVE the way it sounds, it's a very deep bass note, nothing rice about it. And I find the tips don't discolor from the exhaust heat either. It look perfect on the car, and fitment was excellent. And for $525, it's a bargain...as was getting it FREE!:D :D :D :D :D :D

NOTE: you have to be creative with the stock rubber bushings that are on the stock exhaust, when installing the M2. I found initially that the muffler was resting against the drivers side heat shield.....so I took one of the rubber spacers that usually* is on the right side (kind of top hat shaped) and put it on the drivers side hanger, and voila..it was spaces a 1/2 inch. No problemo!

*Then again maybe my exaust guys forgot which one's go where, there are a few of them. And they were a bunch of drunken monkeys too.:p

Looks awesome!! Have you had any problems like melting of your bumper? How do you like it? How does it compare to the RB dual? Thanks for the pics.

Sorry I didn't have time to elaborate earlier. I barely had time to post the pics. I don't know if you can tell but the lower black part of my bumper is melted. However, it was melted by the N1 Dual that I used to have. The M2 Dual Tip will not melt your bumper. The tips are properly sized and fit perfectly in their designated location. I must say that the M2 DT exhaust is very quiet. It's almost too quiet (and I appreciate that). I was running my stock exhaust for a month after I sold the N1 Dual and was waiting for my M2 DT to arrive. The M2 DT is only slightly louder than stock at idle and part throttle. It's just barely loud enough to let you know what the engine is doing. Once you start to boost it makes a very mean whooshing sound. Sounds like you are peeling out or like a jet engine hitting its afterburner (but from very far away). M2 says it makes this sound because it flows so damn well. I'd say it definetly sounds like exhaust gasses escaping at high velocity with a complete absense of obnoxious combustion noises. :cool: I am very happy with this exhaust. I'm not sure how the M2 compares to a Racing Beat since I only heard a RB once in a parking lot and it must be really quiet too because I don't remember "hearing" much. Since a PFS was also mentioned I'll say the M2 DT is a lot quieter than the PFS, which I consider loud and overly bassy. The construction is perforated-core & straight through. There are two cores in the muffler can that each lead into another core in each tip. There is packing material surrounding the cores in the muffler can and each core in the cored tips. The tips are kind of long and might be the key to the quietness. As far as power, the butt dyno says, feels great compared to an N1 Dual. Equal or better low end and midrange power and spool up. Top end power seems very close to the N1 Dual. As for apperance I think the M2 DT looks great. It is very complimentary to the 7 (IMO). It's a nice change of pace from all the other exhausts with over size tips. I really enjoy bieng able to open up my car on the street without announcing my speed to everyone for blocks away. :D

You think PFS is loud? I used to have a Tenzo R muffler on my Talon and the PFS exhaust is nothing compared to the Tenzo. It's like a lion's roar compared to a kitten's. Sometimes I wonder if my car is even running because I can't hear any exhaust noises. I may even get something louder because I love listening to FD exhaust!

In regards to the PFS exhaust I guess it is more acurately described as meduim. :rolleyes: The classification of loud should probably be reserved for much more deserving exhausts. I heard the PFS on a car with the same other mods as me. It was quieter than my N1 dual with silencers in. I just thought the PFS was a bit overly bassy, IMHO. The deep low frequency sound it makes just seems to carry well, so it tends to be very audible. It's certianly a very socially acceptable tone and loudness that would be considered plesant by many. At the time I classified the PFS as quiet because I was comparing it to my N1 Dual. I was even considering buying the PFS, after I heard it, except I really wanted a Dual Tip exhaust. By comparison the M2 is just a lot quieter and tends to make most other exhausts seem loud.

I definetly agree with you that the sound of an open FD exhaust is a beautiful thing. :D I really do miss the awesome rotary roar and power of my N1 Dual (without silencers). I just could not handle the extra attention it drew on the street.
