How much horsepower? What do you think??
I've got a recently purchased 93 TT w PFS intercooler, PFS catback exhaust, PFS cold air induction & turbo gauge.....What would you guesstimate my HP is with these mods????
Plan to add downpipe and probably apexi ecu...... then what do you think i'd be runnin' thanks for your comments..... Dave |
just lookin' for some ball park numbers......got a friend with a boxster S who thinks he can take me........ what do you think?
|
hmmm, id think the DP should have been the first mod, o well, sorry i really dont know where you would be at HP wise...
|
Since it still has the pre-cat and main cat,
it might make 10HP more than stock. |
I thought the turbo gauge adds 10 HP by itself....hehe sorry:D
|
My guess is about 250-260 at the wheels depending on boost. Stock is 10 psi. Add around 15 hp for every extra pound. The dp should add another 20 hp or so. Your friend probably doesn't have a chance. Also change your plugs if you haven't already. Fouled ones can cost you as much as 20 hp or more. Trust me, I dynoed with bad ones once.
|
looks like the sooner i get the dp changed the better.....the base boxter is about 215 hp ..... anybody remember what the S version runs at????
|
Boxster's blow...
base boxster S is 250 flywheel hp. You should whip his ass :D . Changing the plugs is a good idea...you can do it yourself without jacking the car up. Took me half an hour at most last week. Gapping the damn plugs is a pain in the ass though ;) ...

Stock FDs have around 210-220 rwhp so with those mods I'd say you have around 30 more hp so 250 at the wheels or 295-300 at the flywheel. I know for sure that a pfs ic adds 13 rwhp from a before and after dyno run I saw. With a dp and PFC you'll be in the 290 rwhp and 340-350 at the flywheel. What you have now will pull a Boxter S. I don't even believe they pull 13's - I think 14.1 is their fastest time. Race him and put him in his place - and get a dp - it's a must for the turbos!!!

How about...
Allright, I'll bite since his mods are similiar to mine..
PFS intake, PFS IC, DP, midpipe w/cat, PFS exhaust? Umm, no added fuel (shiver). Boost is around 7 primary, spikes to around 14 at transition, drops to about 11 afterwards. Will dyno soon after the clutch is replaced, those big transitions have nearly killed it. I know I need fuel and am working on it... Friend is installing a dyno and I'd love to be able to surprise him with a decent amount of power. 300RW maybe? Or is that a bit too much? |
2Turbos,
Go to my site and check the dyno part. I have simular mods and boost but no 14 psi spike. (I would look in to that.) I made 290 with stock main cat. I think you might see about another 5-10 with a highflow. There is also a link on my dyno part that has info on several runs on my dyno day including 2 cars that match yours down to the brand names. Heat soak was a problem though. Dave at KD really needs to invest in a good dyno fan. PS At some point I'll be doing a before/after test with stock cat compared to high flow. I don't think it has been done or at least hasn't been put up on the web. |
Thanks for the posts.............would you basically say i must put in the PFC???? Looking for an excuse!!!
Thanks |
