Coolant Bypass for Throttle Body?
Has anybody ever bypassed the coolant through the throttle body? I remember back when I had a 1972 Datsun 510, one of the cheap mods for it was to cut off the coolant flow through the throttle body. The idea is that the TB will be a lot cooler and will keep the intake charge cooler. The drawback was that the car would run a little rougher when the engine was cold, but the mod was good for 7-10 HP, and that was on an engine that put out less than 100 HP peak. Anybody ever try this with an FD? I'm thinking I may go get some coolant hose and try it out.....
