charge control valve problems?
Ok so I need some experts on the ccv and the control system.I think the ccv isnt opening when the second turbo is supposed to come online. How can I test this and what would be needed to fix this problem?

I would like to hear everyones symptoms and problems that were due to the ccv not working properly. It may help me out as well.Since the autosport tech website doesnt report all the possible symptoms.Like what the car would do if the ccv valve doesnt open at all.

The CCV doesn't open untill after 4500 rpm, correct? At this point the CRV stops venting the secondary boost and redirects it into the Y-Pipe.
So, if it is not opening at all then your CRV would continue to vent till redline and you would have, I guess, 5-7 psi after transition. Hook up a longer garden hose to your CRV and run it into your pass. side window to see if it still vents past 4500. Raj |
sounds like a plan.Thing is that I barely make enough boost to hit 3 psi max after transition. Also what would make the crv vent boost? a bad crv?
If thats the case I replaced it with the air bypass valve to check and see if this would change anything and it didnt.Thank you mahjik for the links. You know as always I appreciate all the help. |
quick question.Does the effini y pipe come with a charge control actuator? or is this a separate part?
|
does anyone know exactly what is meant by key on key off to test the ccv?
Because when I do this the ccv actuator doesnt move it stays out.Now if I star the car the rod pulls in and when I shut the engine off it goes out.Just trying to figure this problem child out. |
The KOKO test shows that the vacuum system is holding vacuum. If it only works when the car is running, you either have a leak in the vacuum storage system or the check valve has failed.
