CD player dead
On the way to work the other day, my cd player quit in the middle of a cd. It just starting blinking dashes across the lcd, and ejected. Now whenever I put a cd in, it blinks the dashes and ejects. I don't have a manual for my car, so I don't know if there is a simple fix for this.
Any suggestions? Oh yeah, it's a '94 touring. Thanks |
Yes, learn to play the harmonica.

Well, there isn't any quick fix that I know of. If you find one, let me know.
The tracking on your CD player is the problem. Mine has had that problem for quite a while. It seems to be worse when it's cold. It will eventually take the cd, you just have to be persistant, and put it in over and over again. |
That's what happens. The factory CD players are crap. I've heard of people going through two or three of these within the time their factory warranty is in effect. I would go get an aftermarket head unit if I were you. That's what I'm going to do after my engine gets rebuilt! :)

I think the hard ridding of the RX7 may cause deterioration of cd players. It does vibrate a lot more in a RX7 than just about every car out there.
You may want to try a CD player cleaner disk that uses wet solution to clean the laser lense. You can get this at any cd store like tower records. This may help. Emphasis on may.... |
