Car making some strange sounds after PFC installation
I've had the car since May with 65,000 miles... the car now has 72,500 miles and is running a stock setup with just a modified air box and A'pexi PFC.
After installing my PFC I noticed my car made some different sounds. The car starts a little bit rougher than usual, but idles great, and power feels a lot smoother throughout the powerband. I believe the start up roughness has something to do with the plugs getting a little fouled since the car's running quite a bit richer-- that or because of the 4 wires that were removed from the harness. My main concerns are some new sounds coming from the engine bay. Upon start up, belt noise is a lot more pronounced, but goes away as the car warms up. I'll probably just replace the belts since I'm unsure of when the belts were last serviced. There is also a monotone hum coming from around the radiator area. It sounds like what you hear when you're getting your ears checked and they test your hearing range by playing a series of long beeps at different frequencies. I have no idea what this sound could be or if its normal, doesn't sound like belt noise since it stays the same when i hit the throttle. Im gonna try installing the stock ECU and see if they go away, any ideas? |

I noticed the same thing when instaling the PFC. The hum is coming from the lower turbo intake. I can really only hear it at idle.
