ATF Treatment
 

Can someone post a detailed How-To for the ATF treatment? I tried to search the site for it as well as other sites, but have had trouble locating a detailed description. I have been having problems starting my 7 and was told this could save me. Thanks.

this is a very very old trick to help build compression. all you need to do is get some into your motor. easiest way is to get a turkey baster and take your plugs out. just squirt a little in the motor. crank it, and repeat in each housing a few times (like 3) then re-install your plugs and try to start. it is not the cure all for engine problems, but the theory behind it is to lube up the internals of a motor that has been sitting for a while, and build compression by making a "false seal" around the apex seals.your motor will smoke like a B*%#@ for a few minutes when it does start. if motor still wont start, take the plugs out, spray them w/ carb cleaner and light them on fire to clean out all the wetness around them that may prevent them from firing correctly. any more questions on that? i think i explained everything.

Let it sit?
 

Yeah. I read on some posts that you're supposed to let it sit 24 hours. Is this true? If not, how much time is sufficient to let it sit? Also, how far do I crank it to get each side of the rotor? I read somewhere that one full 360 degree turn only moves you to the next side of the rotor. Is that right? Thanks for the input.

you dontr have to let it sit. that is why you do it several times. even if in the process you only put 2 sides, that will be enough. but if you keep cranking the motor, dont put as much in each time. i am drunk. just thought i would share.( not my vodka)

Thanks for the advice. I'll try it out tonight. Don't worry about sharing the vodka, I'm more of a whiskey guy myself.
