yet another cold start prob

ok so i searched and found some relative info but it doesnt answer all my questions, first off here's the problem start up wen engine cold revs up to 2000 rpms then comes back down to roughly 500 rpms and then dies once slightly warm(qtr way up) it will hold idle at 500 then once fully warm will idle as normal. in anther thread i was reading about the grounding test connector and adjusting the idle method, but the person in the other thread was told to adjust idle when warm shouldnt i need to do it when cold? as it idle's normal when warm. or couyld my prob be somethin else like intake leak? any help would be appreciated.

The car needs to be warm in order to adjust the TPS. Warm the vehicle and then make changes as needed.

hmm i dont think i dun it right or i have prob elsewhere i ground the green test connector actually ther was two green connector's i chose the smaller one wich has only one opening and adjusted the idle screw and it was idleing at 800 -900 i left it let it cool down for a few hours then started her and while idle had improved it was just about holding when i drove it around warm it would not idle correctly it was anywhere between 900-1200 so... any other idea's ? tps maybe? i would really like to do this myself but its looking more like im gonna have to get some one else to do it :(

Do you have an S4 or S5? I think the first step is to make sure the baseline's in good shape. It sounds like some systems might need calibrating! Check out the Community Service Manual for TPS Adjustment and Idle Speed/AFR adjustment:
http://howto.globalvicinity.com/gv_w...=118&co=1&vi=1

You might want to check the diagnostics plug too, which is also covered in the CSM. Once the systems are back in spec, we can see if there's something actually wrong.
