y can i not find my coolent temp sensor plug...?

so i just picked up my vert (S5) and the temp gauge doesnt work...so i snoop around a bit and find that the coolent temp sensor on the driver side of the engine near the oil press sensor is not pluged in...and i cannot find the plug anywhere...its a rebuilt engine in there but no info on it....but just wondering where the plug splits from/which harness....pics are cool too!!! lol not fining it in FSM

You are describing the "intake air temperature sensor" (IAT). It is found in the emissions and control unit wiring diagram. The wire is plain green (g) and eminates from pin 2L on your ecu. If you cannot find the wire you can connect another wire to the wire coming out of your ecu if there is a preexisting wire and run it to the sensor. Of course you will need the proper plug.

the single wire comes from the same harness as the injectors. i beleive it's yellow with a stripe..and either a bullet or spade style connector.

yah, just run a new wire to the yellow plug on the windshield wiper harness thats on the foot well of the passenger side.

Second time is a charm. http://foxed.ca/rx7manual/manuals/S5wiring.pdf pages Z 46-47. The wire is y/w and is part of the emissions harness (em) which then connects to the front harness (f) which then connects to the instrument cluster harness (ic).

The link takes a while to load, try it again. It will provide you with the correct info this time round.
