WTF? is this normal?

So my no spark issues apear to stem from my throttle cable being slightly too tight. so I loosened it of course. As soon as any gas pedal pressure is applied the spark dies.Is this normal ?If not what is causing this to happen ? any ideas?

The throttle cable has nothing to do with the ignition system. Engine speed will adjust timing over ~1100 rpm however.

Are you monitoring spark with a timing light or something? Or are you just assuming that when the motor dies, it's because of no spark?

How do you know there's no spark?

Yeah chances are its a fuel issue. You say its a "gas whore" so i would assume you hooked up the throttle cable 1st (which was a little tight) and your idle jumped up pretty high. You then fucked with the idle set screw to drop it to 850 or so. Car constantly had throttle and now that you loosened cable car stalls. Set the idle with no tension on the cable. Might also be a vaccum leak, or i am completely off all together :)

Well I took one of my leading and one of mty trailing plugs out and they both spark for a sec and then stop. Not sure why but any pressure on the gas pedal kills spark dead as shit. And the motor doesnt even start I would say its more of an "almost" like it wants to start. Unless I plug this random ass AFM I found at my buddys house lol. then the car kinda runs like poop but runs.

TPS adjusted properly?

Then get a non random ass afm that works properly. Seems like you narrowed the problem down quite a bit.

FSM spec is I believe 1 - 3mm of freeplay for the throttle cable. You can check this by using a piece of masking tape on the cable and a digital dial caliper (like $15 at Harbor freight).

im a fucking retard. The spark still dies after a good try to start with the alleged "correct" AFM .Im going to see if i can find what the random one goes in. I dont know what else to do as far as the afm. could the parts store be giving me one for a non-turbo car? this shit is getting old
