wtf? no knock control unit?

Hi guys!

Today i have installed my S4 PFC Adapter from banzai-racing...

when i was searching for the knock control unit to solder a wire there, i didnt find the unit 0.o

but i've found the connector (if its the connector on the pictures)

is it possible that my car dont have this unit?
its a EUDM s4 TII 1987... i've done an engine swap one year before complete with a rebuild harness... maybe i'Ve forgot to reinstall the knock control unit? (but i dont think so because i dont have this unit laying around anywhere in my garage...)

i've had installed a SAFCII and the knock-function was working (seen some knocking on IDLE but never on throttle...) the engine also definitly have a knock sensor...

wtf is going on? :)

thx guys...

The knock sensor wire from the PFC goes directly to the sensor, so it eliminates the box. Whatever readings you were picking up with the s-afc were false. Just wire it in per the instructions at the connector.

thx :)

so, today i've had time to finish the installation...

but... i've seen another mysterious thing ;)

In the installation Instructions the wire should be grey... on my wiring harness there is a blackwhite wire on that connector position... no grey wire anywhere *???*

just to verify again... i don't need that box to run my car? only have to connect the wire to the connector and thats it?

Correct, the PFC has internal knock control. Check for continuity at the inside connector to the knock sensor connector in the engine bay. If it has continuity then it is the correct wire.

i'm not near of my car now... can i disconnect the knock sensor without pulling off my UIM and LIM to check for continuity?

thx 4 your answers...

Just take your intercooler off, if you have the top mount. It is right next to the intake air temp sensor connector, mounted on the bracket, should be a single wire green connector. It looks like you O2 sensor connector

oh, now i can remember the wire, thx for the hint!
will check this tommorow :)

thx 4 the answers...!
