WTF Engine Problem!!

After many many futile attempts I finally got my 88 N/A running. Its not pressurizing the fuel line correctly. But i went to start it up today and after reving it for about 10seconds it stayed running. Although it was weak. The idle was erradic. Lots of white smoke. Any ideas or suggestions?

Lots of white smoke equals a just unflooded engine.

The fuel rails don't get pressure until you HOLD the key to START or the engine actually is running above 500rpm.

Ok. well regardless now the engine wont even start. It is getting gas and spark.

What do the plugs look like?

blackedoutFC3S Sep 26, 2008 05:11 PM

idle being arratic for me was an unappropriatley addjusted TPS but could be vaccuum lines, etc... now does the engine crank over and start up or is there nothing?

exdos Sep 26, 2008 05:32 PM

the plugs are brand new.

it cranks but it just wont start up. every once in awile it'll sound like it wants too but cant.

before i got it running it would start right up then die immediately.

Same thing happend with my s5, TSP wasnt fully on. So check your TSP.

exdos Sep 27, 2008 06:10 PM

Checked the TPS, thats fine. But we were looking around the intake and i did find a couple vaccuum lines that were cracked. I didnt have time to put the new ones on today so hopefully tomorrow everything will be ok.
