Got $15? Go to a auto parts store, and pick up a filter that has a 2.5 inch inlet on it. They even come in many designer colors!!;)

It's for the airpump, not the AFM. I don't think it's quite that big... :D

Really.Hmmmmm. I could have sworn that was the size I bought. It did cost $15 though!! Just measure it...

or you could just remove the airpump and wire the ports open;)
(runs to put on flame resistant suit!!!)

Yeah, for the airflow meter! The air pump's inlet is only about ¾"

I got a Weapon R for the AFM, and a separate one for the air pump. Jeeze Jason, sorry I got my sizes mixed up!! Measurement Nazi...;)

So where Can I buy one?

rico05 05-07-02 06:34 PM

Auto Zone, Pep Boys, NAPA, Summit, Wal-Mart...You pick!!

or you could gettoh rig it like me, just get a metal fastener and a thick rag, you don't have to worry to much about the air being used by the airpump, so don't do this on you main filter.

rico05 05-07-02 06:53 PM

That is really Ghetto Fabulous!! I thought of that, but I bought the filter, then pulled the pump soon after. Threw the filter away...

you can take off the hose that connects the air pump intake to the airbox... take that hose with you to an auto store, and find some cheapass filter that fits in it... Cut it short (2" or so), and fasten the filter in, then fasten it to the airpump... tada.

Same thing works if you take off your airpump for the ACV inlet.... I don't think that pulls any vacuum, but i dislike open holes going into my engine, so I filtered it anyway. It's REAL dirty now.

myron96 05-08-02 12:31 AM

EXACTLY!!!! THANKS!!!!

myron96 05-08-02 12:58 AM

Ok, now can you tell me what this is for, i didnt need it to install the larger cone.

Xentrix 05-08-02 06:43 AM

That is if you have the series 4 (86-88) Mas air flow meter, it's the adapter plate so a K&N like in my pic above will fit.

All you need is the little filter that goes on the oil breather tube on the side of the air filter box on carbed cars - I found one for about $3 which even has the right hose size - 3/4" if I remember correctly. And yes you do need it - the interior filter material of mine went from pure white to black in less than a month!

Hey, Thanks guys!! I went to autozone today and bought one, 8 bucks!!!
