Wow, this is strange

I just noticed today while i was checking my oil this morning (while car was idleing to warm up)

That my 5th and 6th port acctuators make a click noise... and i can acctually see them moving in conjuntion with the click. If i put my finger on the top of the acctuators (where the Valve that goes in is) i can feel my finger vibrating along with the click noise. The noise and click is definatly coming from the actuators, but what could it be? Possible sign that they dont work?

THis really bothers me. My driving is the same. but at idle they click. Normal?

Bump.

Anyone know what could cause my ports to click and rattle?

Twin scroll actuator valve controls switching actuator in turn activaate switching valve. Actuator may be bad.:)

I'm not sure, but you check your oil with the car running?

IT's normal. I have noticed it while checking over several engine installs I have done, some with stripped block/emissions removed, making it more noticeable. What youre experiencing is the turbulence caused by each rotor as it passes by the sleeve/port, it actually disturbs it a little (like a semi flying by you on the side of the road) and transmits some energy, not by touch, but by airflow.

:wtf1:

HEre he is asking about 6 ports (obviously nonturbo) and you're commenting about a turbo twin scroll actuator. Nice one.

well.. it depends... i check it both running and just sitting in my driveway with the engine stopped.

I acctually check all the fluids before i drive off. brake, clutch, coolant and oil.. i figured this morning since my car was allready in cold start mod i didnt want to disturb it or flood it by shutting her off. so i just glansed the oil to see if it had some in.. Rough estimate at best, but i knew there was oil.
