Which would give you more power?Dual or single exhaust on an N/A slightly modded?
I have a RacingBeat header and presilencer and the cheap Apex mufflers you can buy anywhere.I want more performance from my exhaust. Will I get more horsepower if I do a single outlet from the presilencer?

Racing Beat's "Road Race" complete exhaust.

If your using your stock Y-pipe (NA), and switch over to a 3" single exhaust then your answer is YES. The stock Y-pipe is very constricting considering it has 2" collector splitting off to two 1.75" pipes. If you want better flow the 3" single will do the trick but beware of the DRONE LOUDNESS. You'll probably generate about 115 Dbs! If you want performance with out Loud Ass exhaust. Then try RB catback.

The problem here in New York is that there is O tolerence on loud pipes so I got to compromise HP over noise so I've been doing trial and error tests on different exhausts but it's quickly becoming expensive. Thanks for your input guys.

Collected RB exhaust then.

is there a Db level that you have to remain below or is it anything louder than a stock system? |
hey man i am from brooklyn but i am living in texas right now. but anyways i have had the apex i dual catback N1 exhaust for 4 years now and the 3 years that i was in new york with it i never had any problems at all with alot of noise. i also removes the two smaller pre cats and installed just the downpipe, and i have a bonez high flow main cat. so i recommend the apex i dude...

Do listen to anybody who says "single flows better no matter what"; these people know nothing... |
get a true dual exhaust
|
Well i went with the header to a borla presilencer to 3 inches back to an apexi muffler, single exhaust has its advantage b/c it is lighter, i dont know if the tru dual is more powerful b/c i dont have the time or money to dyno and swap parts. I forewarn you if you go with a setup like mine it is extremely loud. I bought a silencer that goes into the muffler and that helps a lot. So if you do go with get a silencer for the muffler.

man this has been covered 3 times since i've been here. Collected headers have significant advantages over true dual exhausts. Im not sure why they even make true dual exhausts for the FCs as the collected headers give better performance.

true duels are to dam loud it hurts my ears

damn, 100lbs per HP.... theres a civic in SCC putting down 1 hp to ever 9 lbs, now thats impressive!

Hey i didnt say that there is awesome gains from it being lighter, all i was stateing is that it is an advantage and it all adds up when you do a little bit of reduction here and there.
