Wont idle, loading up, wont start cold - NEED HELP

I picked up a non running 88 NA the other day and got it to run but im having problems now. When its cold i have to give it a shot of starting fluid to get it started. when its warm i have to feather the gas and floor it while cranking (hard to explain) and it afterburns bad til it starts while blowing blue smoke (fuel smell). once it starts i can hold it at 2500 and it runs fine, revs fine. I try to slowly let off the throttle down to idle but when it gets to 1500 the motor shakes bad, by 1000 it will die. oh yea if i try to just start it warm w/o throttle it will start, rev to 600 for 1-2 sec than die

Hope this made sense to someone

I plan on changing and adjusting the throttle sensor but heres what ive done and found:

- swapped and resealed the intake cuz the dynamic chamber was hung up on the mounting bolts and i didnt trust that the intake was any good
- Resealed the primary injectors cuz the guy didnt put the lower oring on one injector
- Checked all the vacuume ports for leaks
- swapped the MAF with one that i know works
- swapped coils and checked spark on all plugs
- swapped ECU

kinda sounds like some issues i was having,... did you test the tps?

First with the fuel smell check the pulsation dampener, if thats causing the fuel smell(or has any signs of leaking) replace it before starting the car again. Its better then dealing with a car on fire.

Next I would say do a tune up, and adjust the TPS and check the BACV(bypass air control valve) for proper operation. Blue smoke when first starting after sitting for a while isn't all the uncommon(oil dripping slowly past the control rings). I would be more worried if it was blowing lots of blue smoke at higher RPM's.

the smoke is from unburned fuel. Itll make your eyes burn.

Does anyone have a good link for the TPS adjustment? Ive searched but couldnt find much that i could work with

Sounds like a large vacuum leak.

^ thats what i thought but its all sealed up. Ill check again and i think im gonna do the vac spider delete this week anyways for simplicity

Adjusted the TPS to 1006 - 5250 ohm. Still no luck. Is the FPR a diaphram type? I pulled the vac hose off and it was dry.

Any other ideas before I tear the intake off again?

Update. Bad Coolant seals so the motor is pulled
