Wiring in aftermarket Speedometer

I am looking to wire in a dash mounted prosport speedometer. Before you go off on why doesn't my stock one work it's because my steering wheel gets in the way of 45-70mph. Now that we've kept the trolls at bay, I would like to ask "how do you wire this?".

Has anyone wired in aftermarket gauges and the speedometer specifically? I want to be able to do this myself so I don't have to pay an arm and a leg. I have done all my stereo wiring, fuel cut off switch, and my slimline e-fans for my koyorad. I am confident that if I could get some direction on this that it would be a project I could tackle. I have no idea how to read electric flow charts so please don't try to melt my brain by posting one. Seriously, don't even bother I will drool on myself as if I was trying to figure out the secret behind Kanji.

Speedo is mechanical not electrical, so what do you need to know how to wire?

The instructions on page 2 say to connect to the speed sensor wire at the ECU. I dont think the FC has such a signal.

I didn't know my speedo was mechanical, also, I don't know if that is going to work with the prosport then? I was hoping it was going to be some obscure point on the ECU.

I am planning on removing the cubbies behind the seat and the rails under it to bolt down a Momo super cup XL seat directly into the floor. That way I can sit lower and back further, and when I hit a speed bump I wont smash my head on the roof :( People wont call me donkey cart -.- STOP LAUGHING, I know you read that and laughed.

I am going to have to check in to that, I guess I will end up disconnecting my speedo in my cluster, I will probably do the tach at the same time as well. I am just getting in the gauging everything in my car phase in prep for the return to boost. My main concern is not getting pulled over because I can't see my speedo lol, cops don't give a shit when I tell them I couldn't see it so I guessed.

$99 gps will give you vehicle speed, or get a gps speedo

Although that seems like a proper solution in some cases I don't know how accurate it would actually be or how responsive it would be. Not to mention the prosport has programmable warning lights and top speed recall. Not only do want a speedometer I can read, I want one that helps me out when I go bombing out on track days.

Thanks for the tip though, I appreciate the creativity and an attempt to find a solution to my problem :)

The FD VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) will fit the FC tranny after the driven gear has been replaced, it's possible the Miata VSS would fit as well.
Problem solved.
