wire problems
 

can someone tell me what color the wire in my fuel cut off is, i need to splice into it so i don't have to so in and out of my hood and pull the fuse everytime

WHich wire are you talking about? The wire you splice at the relay? Or at the pump?

You want the circuit opening relay under the dash. It's a black relay with a yellow 6-pin plug mounting close to the steering column. There are five wires, you want the middle one on its own, it's black with a white stripe. Cut it and extend the wires to the switches location. The plastic panel under the steering wheel with the little vent is an ideal location. :)

a friend of mine said it was in the back of the car under all the stuff in the trunk connected with the "egi" fuse

He was wrong. The EGI fuse is in the engine bay, but you don't need to go near it just for a fuel pump switch. Just follow my instructions and you'll be fine. ;)

Ok I hope that works. and to put a toggle switch with an LED on it in all you have to go is run a ground. And the picture pretty much says it all, but the fuel cut switch goes in the wire with the blue clip on it. Also use those blue clips they are much easier, you don't have to splise the wire at all.

OK I fixed it I was having my brother show me how to do it while you were posting dr0x, ha that's kinda funny, but it works now

What those are the best, it lets me be lazyer, and I don't have to splice any wires, that also means I will have all 10 of my fingers by the time I am done.

Thats the "it works" way to splice a wire. Dunno, I just go the extra step and try to solder every connection I make.

I can't solder very well, I have never gotten that to work for me very well, nor can I weld.

Don't use those connectors, they're not reliable enough for things like fuel pumps. Besides, you're not supposed to be splicing into wires, you're joining two wires together. If you can't solder, use proper crimp connectors. They're just as easy to use but give a more secure connection.

I've never had any probalems with the conectors they are all threw my stereo, and everything else that I haqve wired up. And there is still no problem. And it would have been hard to solder somthing under the dash. There is not enough room.
