Winter driving??

Why can you drive a turbo FC in the winter reasonably
when they say you can't drive an FD in the winter at all??

I was reading information on the FC and it said on this forum you can winter drive with it.

We'll why can you not drive in teh winter with FD?? if you drove easilly and got good winter tires??

im sure u could drive just about anything in the winter, but why destroy such a rare car

I've driven my FD in the winter on summer tires before! just be careful. And as far as the FC, 2 words : snow tires.

I threw snow tires on my FC and would walk away from trucks at stops.

I'm saying if I put Winter tires on my FD???
Is it as drivable as an FC?? cause I heard it wasn't and i'm curious why.

Either way I dont evne like the idea of it hitting roads during the winter when the roads are clear.. cause of rocks etc!

Enh! Why would you want to drive a nice FC or FD in the winter, with the salt/slush/rocks/sand/other people with no traction?

Yes. You can successfully get from point A to point B with a FB/FC/FD in the winter. Snow tires help a lot, and if you have pure summer performance tires, they might be the only way you'll get there.

However, they're a handful in the snow (light RWD car with no low end torque), the roads tend to be filled with nasty chemicals in the winter, and there tends to be no end of idiots sliding through stop signs/etc that could very easily plow a large vehicle into the side of your '7.

I drive an old Subaru with snow tires in the winter. I can outrun/outhandle basically everything else on the road, with the exception of other Subarus/AWD vehicles with snow tires.

My 7 handles great in the snow if you can drive it. I've never driven and AWD car but I prefer the Rex to any FWD car in the snow.

Yes but how about FD's??

no reason you couldnt drive an FD
but if you can keep up with FD repairs you can buy a daily driver
